Open to the public, the Fifth Church Reading Room is a quiet place where you can pray and study. As with any Christian Science Reading Room, you can read or purchase the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Science and Health will give you a whole new way of thinking about your health and personal issues, about community and world issues and more.
All Reading Rooms include the complete spiritual writings of Mary Baker Eddy, weekly and monthly Christian Science magazines, and the internationally respected Christian Science Monitor.
The Fifth Church Reading Room also has tablets available to look up different articles and topics on Christian Science. You can listen to a lecture, the daily lift or an audio chat. If you find a specific article in Journal or Sentinel that feels a need for you, our librarian would be happy to print it out for you.
Please see below for our Reading Room hours:
- Our Reading Room is open every Thursday and Friday from 2:30 – 5:30 pm, and every Saturday from 10 am – 6 pm. It is also open holiday weekends, unless the holiday falls on that precise Saturday.
- It is open for half an hour before and after church services, and closed for public holidays. Hours are variable during July and August.
